چکیده

Objective: The objective of this study was to compare proximal, local, and distal muscle morphology in women with without patellofemoral pain (PFP). Materials Methods: Proximal, thicknesses (MTs) were obtained B-mode sonography healthy (control group [CG], n = 20) PFP (PFP group, women. In addition, mass measured by the sum synergistic MTs. Data analyzed independent t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, effect size. Results: had smaller gluteus medius ( P .02, d 0.7), vastus medialis < .01, 1.0), flexor digitorum brevis 1.0) MT greater gastrocnemius .04, 0.6) than CG. Quadriceps 0.8) foot .008, 0.9) smaller, while plantar CG 0.8). Conclusion: have alterations comparison CG, which may explain possible changes strength functionality.

Distal Approaches in Patellofemoral Pain: A Systematic Review, Part I

Purpose: Increased patellofemoral joint reaction force (PFJRF) is the main cause of patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFP). Foot pronation causes faulty joint coupling of the lower limb and increases the PFJRF. Therefore, the aim of systematic review is effect of the distal interventions on the clinical symptoms and kinematic of PFP patients.   Methods: The search strategy was carried out from Goo...

Proximal muscle rehabilitation is effective for patellofemoral pain: a systematic review with meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND Proximal muscle rehabilitation is commonly prescribed to address muscle strength and function deficits in individuals with patellofemoral pain (PFP). This review (1) evaluates the efficacy of proximal musculature rehabilitation for patients with PFP; (2) compares the efficacy of various rehabilitation protocols; and (3) identifies potential biomechanical mechanisms of effect in order...

Effect of squatting velocity on hip muscle latency in women with patellofemoral pain syndrome

[Purpose] Neuromuscular activity has been evaluated in patellofemoral pain syndrome but movement velocity has not been considered. The aim was to determine differences in onset latency of hip and knee muscles between individuals with and without patellofemoral pain syndrome during a single leg squat, and whether any differences are dependent on movement velocity. [Subjects and Methods] Twenty-f...
